Scorekeeper utilizes modern digital technology, advanced engineering know how, and the encyclopedic musical knowledge of one extraordinary cinephile. Michael McDonald, whose love of movies is matched only by his zeal for music, uses his superior ears to restore, rehabilitate, remix, and re-master hundreds of film and TV scores.

RESTORATION: Musical backgrounds for films shot before 1990 are on various forms of analog tape that are now decaying rapidly. Scorekeeper has all the technical knowledge and tools to save, recondition, and transfer these valuable musical treasures.

REHABILITATION: Many early film scores exist in mono sound or simple stereo. Scorekeeper converts all scores to digital formats and creates stereo as well as produces surround sound in order to bring the music into a modern theatrical setting. Scorekeeper’s Hollywood facility boasts the top software for creating multiple sonic effects and allows magic for music that never existed before.

REMIX: Michael McDonald has engineered, mixed, and mastered thousands of albums, Broadway librettos, and movie scores. Although Michael has his high tech equipment, he believes that it is not the kitchen that creates the magic, but the skill of the chef.

CLIENTS: For over eight years, Scorekeeper has serviced the restoration and re-mastering needs of Laser Light Music. Their library consists of The Great American Songwriter series which includes FRED ASTAIRE, DORIS DAY, JUDY GARLAND, GEORGE GERSHWIN, LENA HORN, AL JOLSON, & DINA SHORE.
